Descripción: Este curso proporciona una descripción general de la definición de apoyo voluntario de PC Panamá, con el fin de gestionar las expectativas entre los voluntarios y el personal. Este curso creará la base para construir puentes de apoyo entre el personal y los voluntarios, de modo que el servicio de los voluntarios tenga éxito en el cumplimiento de las tres metas del Cuerpo de Paz.

Objetivos del Curso:

Después de revisar este curso, los participantes (PCTs/ PCVs y personal):

  • Comprenderán las expectativas en torno al apoyo voluntario y su función.
  • Serán capaces de identificar las principales fuentes de información relevantes para el servicio voluntario.
  • Serán capaces de identificar metas o necesidades de aprendizaje adicionales.

Peace Corps Panama course

This course is divided in three major sections:

  • IT: Collaboration tools (Concepts about collaboration tools, SharePoint and OneNote).
  • Medical: Hygiene habits: Important tips about Handwashing (the correct way to wash your hands and historical context of this practice).
  • Admin: Cash advance procedures (How to fill in the forms, request and clear cash advances in the office).

Learning Objectives:

  1. At the end of this course, the learner will be able to navigate through SharePoint 2013 by creating a list. Also, the learner will be able to use OneNote as a notes-taking tool by creating a new notebook, upload it into SharePoint and share it with others.
  2. After reviewing the course materials, the student will be able to describe the five steps of correct handwashing and explain its importance.
  3. At the end of this course, the learner will be able to recall the Cash Advance Request and Clearance processes by submitting at least one cash advance process  correctly.

Target learners: Panama staff (onboarding and existing)

Help Prevent an Epidemic

This course will give Peace Corps Trainees a foundational understanding of HIV in Panama. Trainees will learn how the virus functions, what treatment options are available, and how to prevent transmission.  We will examine the impact of HIV on specifics populations and also explore the numerous organizations and agencies working to combat the virus.  This introductory course/session will prepare trainees for later sessions on planning, implanting, and monitoring and evaluating community-based health promotion events.
