This is the onboarding course for Peace Corps Language and Cultural Facilitators, or LCFs. LCFs very heart of Peace Corps training, opening the door to your communities and country by helping equip the Volunteers with the language and cultural know-how to thrive in their work and their daily lives.  Our hope is that this course will help you to understand what language training in Peace Corps is like, welcome you into the community of Peace Corps LCFs and provide you with some activities that will help guide you in understanding Communicative Language Teaching.

Description: This course introduces Peace Corps staff to the PACA approach (phases, lenses and tools) and PACA resources; explains when, why, and how to apply the six PACA lenses; and provides guidance on how to design opportunities for trainees to practice using PACA during PST.

Notes: 

  • The staff-focused content of this course is similar to the contents of these three ePACA courses for Peace Corps trainees: Introduction to PACA; PACA Lenses "Deep Dive", and; Applied PACA Practice in PST.
  • Completion of this course is a requirement for enrolling in the PACA PT&E Practices course.
