Mandatory Training Active Rolling Certification Courses are active Mandatory Trainings courses for staff that are set within Certifications. Once a course is archived and no longer active, it will be moved to the Archived Mandatory Training category.

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to HIPAA, outlining who the law covers, the core privacy protections for protected health information, and how these requirements affect employees and business associates of covered entities. It helps learners recognize key HIPAA provisions and their implications while noting that the course offers general information, not legal advice.

Audience: All OHS, PCMOs, RMOs, DMOs, OCFO GAP Staff, CDs, Medical Assistants, Medical Secretaries, SARLs, Drivers (alt comp option), backup Medical Providers

Deadline: upon entry for new staff within 60 days, and annually

Access: This course can be viewed on a mobile device with a web browser. An audio device (e.g., headset, speaker) is needed.

This training introduces the Peace Corps Small Grants Program and equips staff to manage the four grant mechanisms—PCPP, SPA, VAST, and the USAID Global Agreement—while effectively supporting, monitoring, and reporting on community‑driven projects. 

Audience: Mandatory for Small Grant Coordinators (these users may self-enroll as directed)

Duration: ~ 10-12 hours (whole course, if all modules taken)

Due: Upon entry within 90 days for Small Grants Coordinators

This annual refresher course for SSMs, Back-up SSMs, and SSAs reviews how trauma effects the brain and memory, and how it informs trauma-informed interviewing skills. 

Audience:  Safety and Security Managers (SSMs), Safety and Security Assistants (SSAs), and Back-up Safety and Security Managers (BUSSMs)

Due Date: Annually

Duration: The course should take 1-2 hours to complete.
